Privacy & cookies
This notice explains how we handle personal data on the Facet landing page — the email you give us to hear about Facet, and the optional analytics we use to improve the site. It is written to meet the UK GDPR and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).

Facet is operated by Outbox Labs, a trading name of Leah Zou, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom. We are the data controller for the personal data described here.

What we collect and why
Email you give us
If you submit the form on our home page, we collect your email address so we can email you when Facet launches and send occasional product updates about Facet. We do not require any other details.
Lawful basis: your consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a)), which we also rely on under PECR for sending these emails. You can withdraw consent at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any email or by emailing us. Withdrawing consent does not affect emails already sent.
Analytics (only if you accept analytics cookies)
If you accept analytics cookies in our cookie banner, we use two tools to understand how the site is used so we can improve it:
- Google Analytics 4 — aggregate traffic, approximate location (derived from IP, which we ask Google to anonymise), browser and device information, and on-site events such as joining the list. We do not enable Google Signals or ad personalisation.
- Microsoft Clarity — interaction data such as clicks, scrolls, heatmaps, and session recordings. Clarity is configured to mask form fields and sensitive text, so the email you type and similar inputs are not captured.
We do not use these tools for advertising personalisation, and they are blocked until you opt in.
Lawful basis: your consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a)) and PECR for the cookies/storage involved.
Cookies and similar storage
Only one item is set without consent: a small record of your cookie choice so we do not ask you on every visit. All analytics cookies below are set only after you accept analytics cookies, and are removed if you later reject them.

You can accept or reject analytics cookies at any time using the control here or in the footer of any page. Rejecting after previously accepting will withdraw consent and clear the analytics cookies listed above from your browser.
Who we share data with
We do not sell your data. We use the following service providers, who process data on our behalf or as part of providing their tools:
- Netlify — hosts the website and receives your email through the waitlist form. Your email is stored in Netlify only and is not exported to any other tool.
- Google — provides Google Analytics (only with your consent). Our pages also load fonts from Google Fonts; when your browser requests them, Google receives your IP address.
- Microsoft — provides Microsoft Clarity (only with your consent).
International transfers
Netlify, Google, and Microsoft are based in the United States and may process data outside the UK. Where this happens, the transfer is protected by the UK’s International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, as offered by each provider.
How long we keep it
- Your email: until Facet launches plus 12 months, unless you ask us to remove it sooner. After you unsubscribe or request deletion, we remove it within 30 days.
- Google Analytics: user and event data is retained for up to 14 months, then automatically deleted.
- Microsoft Clarity: retained in line with Microsoft Clarity’s standard retention period.
- Cookie choice: we ask you to confirm your choice again after 6 months.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access your data; to have it corrected or erased; to restrict or object to its processing; to data portability; and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email hello@getfacet.space.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the UK’s Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO): ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, helpline 0303 123 1113, or ICO, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF. If you are in the EU, you may instead complain to your local supervisory authority.
Changes to this notice
If we change how we use your data, we will update this page and the “last updated” date above.
